Seldon A. Brown, age 90, of Dunbar, West Virginia, passed away December 31, 2018, from an extended illness at Angel's Touch Personal Care Home in St. Albans, West Virginia. Born September 22, 1928, in Rowan County, Seldon was the son of the late Thomas Presley Brown and Jessica Lee Fraley Brown. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and companion of 67 years, Flora Lee Dillon Brown, whom he married December 31, 1948. He was the youngest and last living of his siblings: Esta Edna, Vertie Verlin, Lucy Lillian, Cecil Cassis, Scott Sumner, Orville Audrie, Wallace Doris and Beatrice Myrtle. Seldon is survived by his only son, Timothy L. Brown and wife Vanessa; and beloved grandson, Tristan H. Brown, all of Procious, West Virginia; close cousin and friend June Burke of Hawaii; his brother-in-law, Eldon Ray Dillon and wife Ida Belle of Elliottville; special nieces and nephews, Esta May Murton, Sharon Shanklin, Jack Shanklin, Jr., Tracy Pat Brown, Tony Brown and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. For over 50 years, he was the proud owner of Seldon A. Brown Plumbing in Dunbar, West Virginia. In his signature white overalls, he worked from his home and in the community he loved. A master plumber, he worked for Fannin Plumbing and Heating for a decade before starting his own business. Seldon had a strong work ethic which stemmed from his background in farming. Hot water and proper sanitation brought comfort to many who benefited from his 14-hour workdays. Seldon was good-hearted, giving and helpful to those in need. He shared his table, opinions and stories with friends generously. He will be remembered as a protective and caring husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank the owners and staff at Angel's Touch Personal Care Home in St. Albans, West Virginia, for making Seldon's last years pleasant and comfortable.
