Sarah Alice Whitt Winkleman Sloan, born August 13, 1936, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was the daughter of the late Boone and Bertha Tyree Whitt of Elliott County.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Winkleman; her second husband, Harold Sloan; a daughter, Tamela Sue Sloan Kitchen; four brothers, Grover Whitt, Tennyson Whitt, Berlin Whitt, Woodrow Whitt, and Allie Lee Whitt; and a son-in-law, Ben Rowe.

Alice is survived by eight children, Joann (Leroy) Adkins of Morehead, Eugene (Patty) Winkleman of Sandy Hook, Darrell (Anita) Winkleman and Timmy (Janie) Winkleman, all of Morehead, Linda Rowe, Ricky (Betty) Winkleman, and Robin Winkleman, all of Sandy Hook, and Crystal Sloan (Dean)Howard of Morehead; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, MacArthur Whitt of Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Alice was a member of the Lytten Apostolic Church and loved her church family and friends.  She loved and adored her children and grandchildren, working with her flowers, and taking care of her home.  Alice was a homemaker and a former employee of Cowden's Manufacturing Company, Holiday Inn, and Walmart.

Her greatest joy was caring for her children and grandchildren.  She was loved by all family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Lytten Apostolic Church, 4071 Devils Fork Road, Sandy Hook, KY 41171 with Pastor Brad Winkleman officiating.  Burial will follow in Sloan-Winkleman Cemetery, 3148 Hwy 173, West Liberty, KY 41472.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY  40351 and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Lytten Apostolic Church in Sandy Hook.

Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
