Sarah Elizabeth Ison Callahan Buckner, 92, of Cold Springs Hollow, Morehead, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

She was born March 4, 1930, in Morgan County, and was a daughter of the late Gail and Esta Phillips Ison.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ova Callahan; her second husband, Amos Buckner; two children, Menzil Buckner and Monroe Buckner; two grandchildren, Cassandra Callahan and Deonna Michelle Callahan; and five brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Buckner is survived by seven children, Glenville Callahan of Morehead, Allen Callahan (Dee) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Vernon Callahan (Rhonda) of Morehead, Mervil Callahan of Marion, Ohio, Patricia Spurlock (Omer) of Morehead, Sandra Lewis of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Mitchell Buckner of Woodruff, South Carolina; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Buckner enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and knitting.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Cline and Sister Robyn Cline officiating.  Burial will follow in Clearfield Cemetery.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
