Sara Ann Spurlock, age 85, of Colfax Road, Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg. She was born September 4, 1928, at Colfax, Kentucky, a daughter of the late George and Luley Spurlock. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ermine Revalee and infant Della Spurlock, and seven brothers, Newton, Hinton, Shirl, Melvin, Emmitt, Hobert, and Kelly Spurlock. Sara is survived by two sisters, Glyda Mae Spurlock and Wilma Pauline Stone of Muncie, Indiana, and one brother, Clifford Spurlock of Polkton, North Carolina. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Sara will be missed at the home place where she was born and lived all her life, but we know she will be happy in her new home in Heaven. Family members have a special place in their hearts with good memories of Aunt Sara. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Richard Engles officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bobby Flora, Gary Spurlock, Roy Overbey, Kenny Gulley, Mike King, Kent Clements, Henry Fultz, Jacob Spurlock, and Virgil Spurlock.
