Sammie Ray Norris, age 68, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg. He was born May 27, 1948, in Fleming County, Kentucky, a son of the late Everett and Ethel Ritchie Norris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sharon Barricks, Vicki Kincaid, and Judy Creech. Sam is survived by Pam Conklin; four brothers, Jerry Norris (Diane) of Inez, Kentucky, Danny Norris of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Marion Norris (Charlene) of Stanford, Kentucky, and Jimmy Norris of Gilroy, California; two sisters, Bessie Pelkey (Bill) of Augusta, Georgia, and Betty Miller (Jim) of Lexington, Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Sam was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He and Pam owned River Road RV Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and Sam raised Tennessee Walking horses and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dog, Frankie. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyatt Cemetery on Rock Fork Road with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers: Tim Norris, Terry Norris, Evan Norris, David Goodman, Kyle Goodman, JC Nooner, Shawn Norris, Donnie Oppenheimer.
