Samantha 'Sammi' Jo Conn, age 27, of Morehead, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fort Peck, Montana. Born July 22, 1987, in Morehead, she is the daughter of David Conn of Morehead and Karen Thornsberry Conn of Elliott County. In addition to her parents, Sammi is survived by one son, Layne Ryan Adkins at home; four sisters, Elisha (Richard) Marquardt of Glasgow, Montana, Kimberly (Connor) Bruce of Minot, North Dakota, Allyson Conn and Lindalynn Johnson, both of Morehead; paternal grandfather, Curtis Conn of Morehead; father of her son, Ryan Adkins of Morehead; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sammi was a 2005 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing the guitar, sewing, listening to music, and especially taking walks with her son Layne. She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Linda Reynolds Conn and maternal grandparents, Roger and Irene Adkins Thornsberry. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Conn Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: Wendall Lewis, Josh Fraley, Matthew Hovis, Brandon Hovis, Joseph Holbrook, Erek Monroe, and John Conn.
