Samantha Lynn Brickey Waddell, age 40, of Highway 504, Olive Hill, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at St. Claire HeatlhCare in Morehead, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 16, 1983, in Morehead, she is the daughter of Colleen Porter Brickey and the late Dennis Brickey. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Eva Hannah and Willis Porter; paternal grandparents, Ina Barker and Mart Brickey; and mother-in-law, Connie Haney Waddell.

She is survived by her mother, Colleen Porter Brickey of Sandy Hook; her husband of 12 years, Raymond Meredith Waddell, Jr.; one brother, Jody Brickey of Sandy Hook; father-in-law, Raymond Waddell, Sr. of Olive Hill; and other extended family and friends.

Samantha was a former employee at Walmart in Morehead.  She loved reading, collecting toy horses, drawing, and painting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Daniel Long and Elder Clyde Mays, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Merida Waddell Cemetery, Route 504, Olive Hill.

Pallbearers:  Morgan Waddell, Garrett Waddell, Jacob Waddell, Richard Winkleman, Robert Plank, and Jason Lewis.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
