Sally Kay Dodson, age 85, of White Wood Lane, Morehead, KY, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020, at the home of her sister, Barbara White.

Born April 30, 1935, in Lansing, MI, she was the daughter of the late Delmar Lietzke and Irene Gorton Lietzke Todd.

Sally's husband of 52 years, Russell Ernest Dodson, Jr., whom she married June 23, 1957, passed away April 14, 2010.

She is survived by one daughter, Kristi Hester and husband Charles of Woodlawn, IL; two granddaughters, Katie Feazel and Kellie Hester; a great grandson, Miles; a sister, Barbara White of Morehead, KY; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sheri White and Lori Arnett of Morehead, KY; and her loving companion, "Lil Bit."

Sally followed her husband Russ to numerous airfields during his 12 ½ years in the Air Force. After leaving the military, they resided in Mt. Vernon, IL, and upon retirement, moved to Morehead, KY in 2000.  Sally was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed preparing delicious meals for family and friends, and fondly remembered her work as a school cook.  She was passionate about helping others and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially rescue dogs. Sally was a devout Christian and will be lovingly remembered.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Bethel Memorial Park, 2839 Benton Road, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864, with Brother Jack Templeman officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (EST) Monday, November 2, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to STAR (Saving the Animals of Rowan), P. O. Box 454, Morehead, KY 40351.
