Ryan Abney Howard, age 90, of The Lane, Morehead, a retired MSU art history professor, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his home.

Born December 10, 1933, in Lampasas, Texas, he was a son of the late Ryan M. Howard and Margaret Abney Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, D. Jean Howard, and one brother, Donald Howard.

He is survived by one son, John T. Howard of Morehead.

Ryan served in the U.S. Army and was a retired Morehead State University professor of art history. He enjoyed puppetry and published a biography about a famous puppeteer.
