Obituary

Ruth Stevens Perry, age 69, of Burton Road, Owingsville, formerly of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 7, 2026, at UK–St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born September 16, 1956, in Flemingsburg, a daughter of the late Milburn Med Stevens and Evelean Stephens Stevens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Stevens, Eldon Stevens, and Charles Stevens; and two sisters, Ivory Stevens and Geneva Stevens Spears.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Perry, whom she married November 7, 1994, and with whom she shared 47 years together; three sons, Mikeial Laychak (Nicole) of Maysville, Turtle Laychak (Jessica) of Louisa, and Gerald Lee Perry, Jr. (Brooke) of Morehead; three daughters, Mary "Weezy" Adkins (Charles "Punkin") of Sandy Hook, Jennifer Hall (Josh) of Morehead, and Melissa Corey (Jon) of Owingsville; nine grandchildren, Olyvia Adkins, Rebecca Adkins, Destiny Laychak Bowen, Conner Hall, Devin Laychak, Gerald Lee Perry III, Memphis Perry, Delilah Laychak, and Reneesmee Hill; and seven great-grandchildren, Gemma Adkins, Emilia Morgan, Charliee Morgan, Eric Joseph, Spencer Adkins, Elijah Sargent, and Ava Kai Bowen.

Additional survivors include three brothers, Eddie Stevens of Morehead, Robert Stevens of Olive Hill, and Scottie Stevens; three sisters, Janet Kegley of West Liberty, Linda Abney of Means, and Dorothy Osborne of Morehead; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Ruth will be remembered always and greatly missed.

Ruth was a former employee of Cowden's Manufacturing and Rockola Manufacturing in Chicago, Illinois. She dearly loved spending time with her family, who were truly her world. She enjoyed watching television and loved attending church when she was able; when she could not attend in person, she watched services online.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Steven Gilliam and Brother Ray Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Ison Cemetery on Wells Creek in Sandy Hook.

Pallbearers will be Devin Laychak, Memphis Perry, Gerald Lee Perry, Jr., Conner Hall, Gerald Lee Perry III, and Turtle Laychak. Honorary pallbearers include Charles Adkins, Josh Hall, and Jon Corey.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
