Ruth Moore Gilkison, age 85, of West Sun Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at her residence. Born July 21, 1928, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Elbert Edward and Elizabeth Stidom Moore. Her husband of 42 years, Billy G. Gilkison, preceded her in death on June 17, 2012. Ruth is survived by two sisters, Ruby Pauline White and Naomi Joyce Moore, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and a host of nieces and nephews. She retired from Peoples Bank after 43 years and was a member of the Johnson First Church of God for 70 years. Ruth was an avid walker and enjoyed doing embroidery. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ben Furman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Barry McWain, David Plank, Jack Little, Ronnie Evans, Cody Evans, and Bud Stidom. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
