Obituary

Rudy Michael Jones, age 66, of U.S. 60 East, Salt Lick, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 12, 2016, at his home. Born February 18, 1949, in Mt. Sterling, he was a son of the late William H. Jones and Dorothy McKenzie Jones. Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Black Jones, whom he married July 25, 1970; a son, Shawn (Carol) Jones of Salt Lick; a daughter, Joni Rae (Scott) Caudill of Morehead; a brother, Bill (Barbara) Jones of Frenchburg; two sisters, Patty (Harold Wayne) Hunt of Owingsville and Robyn (Rodney) McCarty of Salt Lick; and five grandchildren, Joel, Jayson, Baylee, Brady, and Macy Grace. He is also survived by special nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Rudy, along with his partner, best friend, and brother, Bill Jones, co-owned Triple J Construction from 1985-2000 and built numerous major roadways throughout Kentucky. A lifelong entrepreneur and land developer, he built and co-owned Carrington Green's Golf Course and Rudy's Ranch horse camp. A former Muskie fishing guide at Cave Run Lake, he loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. Rudy was a member of Morehead First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery at Midland. Pallbearers: Gary McKenzie, Dennis McKenzie, Jared Hunt, Bobby Ulery, Ray Salyers and Michael Pergram. Honorary Pallbearers: Doug Crouch, Stewart Brashear and Harold Wayne Hunt. Visitation is Monday, February 15, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
