Ronald Edward Pennington, age 65, of Open Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Born February 10, 1946, in Bath County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Zules -Dude- and Audrey Slone Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Aaron Pennington, and four brothers, Bobby Vernon Pennington, Roger Pennington, and twins, Timmy and Tommy Pennington. Ronald is survived by his son, Darin Pennington and wife Mindy of Waynesburg, Kentucky; four brothers, Billy Pennington and wife Joyce, Gary Jay Pennington and wife Joann, Jack Pennington and wife Diana, and Greg Pennington, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Betty Jean Barker of Morehead, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Austin, Chloe, and Dylan Pennington; and several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Ronald was a construction worker with Smith Contractors. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in Pennington-Kidd Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Barker, Steve Barker, Brent Skaggs, Tony Pennington, Brent Gregory, Jamie Pennington, and Jason Pennington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
