Obituary

Ronald William Mace, a beloved resident of Criqueside Drive in Morehead, Kentucky, passed away on July 12, 2023, at his residence. He was born on August 27, 1961, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert Mace and Mary Faust Mace. Ronald is survived by the mother of his children, Pamela Sue Hammonds of Morehead, and their three children: son Cameron Mace and his wife Amanda, daughters Katherine Goetz and her husband Andrew of Union Grove, Wisconsin, and Chloe Marie Mace of Morehead, Kentucky. He is also survived by his brother Robert Mace of Vine Grove, Kentucky, and two grandchildren, Illa Mae Goetz and Robert Julian Mace. The family is eagerly awaiting the arrival of another granddaughter, Aria Mace, due in October. Sadly, Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and one infant granddaughter, Emerson Sue Goetz. Ronald pursued higher education and graduated from Morehead State University in 1983, having earned a master's degree in communications. He began his career as a teacher at Morehead State University, where he shared his knowledge and passion for communications. Later, he became a professor in communications at Somerset Community College. Outside of his professional life, Ronald had various interests and hobbies. He had a deep love for music and played in a traveling band, specializing in classic rock. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, engaging in activities such as fishing, camping, and hiking. Ronald was an avid sports fan, particularly of NFL Viking football and UK basketball. To honor Ronald's memory, a memorial service will be held at a later date at Cave Run Lake spillway, a place that held special meaning to him. The arrangements are being handled with care by Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Ronald William Mace will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his love for music, and his zest for life. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
