Ronald Lane "Ronnie" Sorrell, age 73, of Greenbend Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born October 23, 1951, in Maysville, he was the son of the late Kenneth O. "Kenny" Sorrell and Blonda Kissick Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Gunner Weston Lee Sorrell.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna Howard Sorrell, whom he married on April 18, 1975; four sons, Christopher "Chris" Sorrell, Travis Sorrell (Bethany Voight), and Nicholas "Nick" Sorrell, all of Morehead, and Cody Sorrell (Laken) of Sandy Hook; and ten cherished grandchildren, Kason, Lucas, Jaxston, Nolan, Kelsie, Madison, Alaina, Malia, Tinley, and Serenity.
Other survivors include one brother, Eric Carter of Jamestown, Ohio; two sisters, Kim Harlow of Florida and Kay Adams of Colfax; an uncle, Mike Kissick of Colfax; an aunt, Pam Patterson of Texas; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Ronnie retired in 2014 from Frito Lay after 30 years of dedicated service and previously worked as a vendor for Rainbow Bread Company for 15 years.
He enjoyed farming, gardening, raising cattle, and was an avid fan of UK basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. When his children were young, he loved watching them play sports and was actively involved in their activities. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Slaty Point Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his sons and brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
