Ronal Franklin Patton, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Soldier, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at his residence. Born March 6, 1938, in Soldier, he was a son of the late Orville Andrew Patton and Goldie May Franklin Patton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Paul, Lowell David, Herbert, Clarence William, Ernest Lee, and Lloyd Vernon Patton; and three sisters, Betty Jean Shock, Thelma Irene Mikel, and Wanda Patton Fisher. Ronal is survived by his wife, Elsie Thomas Patton; three sons, Mike Whisenant (Susie), Jeff Whisenant, and Brian Whisenant; one daughter, Rhonda Whisenant and (Donnie Cole), all of Norwood, Ohio; one sister, Ina Louise Frisby of Dawson Springs; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed cooking, gambling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery in Soldier with full military honors at gravesite by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
