Rolland Gayheart, age 72, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his residence. Born October 26, 1938, in Floyd County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Vester and Bertha Cook Gayheart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Dye; one daughter, Theda Gayheart Walters; and one grandson, Gregory Todd Walters. His wife, Gertrude Dye Gayheart, passed away October 22, 1996. Rolland is survived by one son, Hank Junior Gayheart and his wife Gail of Hillsboro, Kentucky; two daughters, Patty Cole of Waterford, Michigan, and Rolleen Bentley of Allen, Kentucky; one brother and one sister, Bethel Gayheart and Ethel Gayheart, both of McDowell, Kentucky; and five grandchildren. Mr. Gayheart had been a coal miner and farmer. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky.
