Roger Dale Brown, age 41, of Stark, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007, at his residence. He was born November 6, 1965, in Elliott County, Kentucky, and is the son of Darlene Winkleman Brown of Winkle Ridge in Elliott County, Kentucky, and the late Tommy Brown. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Mary Bowling Brown and Walter and Belle Winkleman. In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his fianc-e, Marlene Hickman and her children, Lela Hickman and Derek Hickman; one son, Thomas Brown of Elliott County; one daughter, Angel Brown of Elliott County; one brother, Scottie Brown of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; one sister, Karen Roznowski of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. Roger was an employee of the Elliott County Board of Education. He had special talents with animals and especially enjoyed training horses and trail riding. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery on Stamper Ridge in Elliott County. Pallbearers will be Jerry Stamper, Harold Stamper, Richard Stamper, Buddy Allen Pennington, Curtis Winkle, Buddy Pennington, Ricky Winkleman, and Adam Howard.
