Obituary

Rodney Scotland "Scott" Brown, 71, of Lebanon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.  Born on September 18, 1953, to Betty Sue Bonehill and Elmer Lee Brown, Rodney was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Rodney is survived by his three children: Christina Reilmann (Mike), Connie Saner (Matt), and Rodney Scott Brown II (Arica). He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Olivia Reilmann, Grace Reilmann, Maggie Reilmann, Luke Saner, Will Saner, Hailey Saner, Cole Gilbert, and Carter Gilbert. Rodney is also survived by his mother, Betty Bonehill; his sister, Paula Winkle; his brother, Marcus Brown; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Brown; his sister, Patricia Iams; and his grandchildren, Drew and Carmen.

Rodney started his career at General Electric but finished it with Vendor's Supply dedicating over 25 years of his life there, where he made lasting friendships and contributed to the success of the company. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country with honor and devotion. Rodney was also a proud Mason, deeply involved in his community and committed to helping others.

Rodney will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his infectious laughter, and his kind-hearted spirit. His deep faith in Jesus and his unwavering devotion to those he loved were central to who he was. Rodney lived with a vibrant passion for life and a profound sense of loyalty to his family and friends. Those who knew him will forever cherish the memories of his wisdom, humor, and the selfless dedication he showed to everyone he encountered.

A celebration of Rodney's life will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Stine Funeral Home of Lebanon. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 PM. Services will begin at 6:00 PM and will include Masonic Services and Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rodney's honor to the Masonic Lodge of Cincinnati Lafyette, Lodge #483, 317 E 5th St, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

Rodney's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.

Scott will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 4 p.m. in the Brown Cemetery on Stamper Ridge in Elliott County, KY.  Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY is assisting the family.
