Roberta Bishop Razor, age 93, of Knapp Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at her residence. Born May 7, 1918, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Jimmie Huddleston Bishop. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marguerite Bishop; two brothers, Edward H. Bishop and Robert S. Bishop; and one nephew, Charles E. Bishop. Her husband, Adrian M. Razor, Rowan County Extension Agent for 33 years, passed away September 24, 1990. Mrs. Razor is survived by one daughter, Robin Mirus and husband David; one son, Robert Boone Razor; five grandchildren, Stephen Mirus, Joseph Mirus, Adria Mirus, Lauren Razor, and Elizabeth Razor; two great grandsons, Braydon and Gavin Mirus; one great nephew, Douglas Bishop; and one great niece, Debra Bishop. The family wishes to extend great appreciation to the caregivers, especially Linda Smith and Linda McKinney, who were so loyal and devoted these last few years. Roberta, a niece of Frank C. Button, first president of Morehead State University, was raised in the Bishop home located on campus and resided most of her life in Morehead. Following graduation from Breckinridge Training School in 1935 and Morehead Teachers College in 1939, she taught in Rowan County schools in Farmers and Elliottville for two years. She then earned an engineering certification from Virginia Polytechnic School of Engineering and worked at the Glen L. Martin Aircraft Company in Baltimore, Maryland, during World War II. She received a Master-s Degree in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1949 and returned to the family business, Bishop Drug Store, founded by her father in 1896. Roberta was a pharmacist at Bishop-s until it closed in 1986. Roberta and Adrian were well known for their service to the community and to Morehead First Baptist Church, where Roberta had been a lifelong member. A professional working woman, Roberta always found time to spend with family. Following retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family and spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. Don Mantooth officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and Tom Corbin, Bill Shely, and James Damron. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Morehead First Baptist Church, 123 East Main Street, Morehead, KY 40351. Visitation: Monday, January 2, 2012, 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Lee Cemetery
