Robert Sloan, 82, of Muncie, Indiana, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 3, 1925, in Van Lear, Kentucky, to William Baldwin and Rosa (Coldiron) Sloan. Mr. Sloan worked as an audio-visual technician for Muncie Community schools and Morehead State University for 30 years. Robert was a member of Christ Chapel Church of Muncie and was a Kentucky Colonel. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing. Mr. Sloan was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II from 1943 to 1946. Survivors include two sons: Robert Sloan (wife-Julie) of Morehead, KY; Tom Sloan of Muncie, IN; daughter: Joy Campbell (husband-David) of Daleville; two brothers: Charlie Sloan (wife-Louise) of Muncie, IN; Bill Sloan (wife-Judy) of Morehead, KY; sister: Ethel Thomas of Muncie, IN; cousin: Carl Clark of Muncie, IN; grandchildren: Rob Sloan of Indianapolis, IN; Brent Sloan (wife-Karla) of Muncie, IN; Darbi Stephens (husband-Scott) of Muncie, IN; Gabe Campbell of Muncie, IN; Travis Campbell (wife-Amanda) of Muncie, IN; Kylie DeVault (husband-Kyle) of Anderson, IN; and Cody Sloan of Muncie; IN; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Marjorie (Martt) Sloan, and now they are together forever. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Tom; and two sisters, Pearl and Georgiann. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart Cemetery in Clearfield, KY with military rites conducted at the graveside by the U.S. Navy and Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Parson Mortuary in Muncie and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
