Robert Lee Maddix, age 44, of Lexington, went into the arms of our loving Father on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the home of his parents after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born January 9, 1973, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, he is the son of Robert Earl and Georgia Richmond Maddix of Lexington. In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by one sister, Tena Lee Davenport and husband Robert and their 14-year old son, Riley Lee, all of Lexington; his sister of the heart, Janet Lakes of Lexington; aunts and uncles, Anna Carnell and JR and Clayton G. Maddix, all of Morehead; Jack Richmond of Florida, and Tinker Richmond of Tennessee.; well-loved cousins; extended family and many dear friends. Rob earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from U.K. and was currently the IT manager at Leggett and Platt in Winchester. Rob was a devout Christian and longtime member of Bethel Harvest Church, where he participated in many church activities and served as usher. A NASCAR fan, he especially enjoyed watching his nephew Riley race go-carts. Rob lived a life of service to others-always selfless, he loved everyone and was eager to help anyone at any time. Family will receive friends at Bethel Harvest Church, 3260 Lexington Road, Nicholasville, on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Marion Dalton and Pastor Mark Keene officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Hamilton Mauk Cemetery in Lewis County. Pallbearers: Bruce Richmond, David Richmond, Tim Robinson, David Kalifut, Steve Day, Robert Davenport, Riley Davenport and C. J. Day. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, is caring for arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Gliobastoma Foundation.
