Robert Lee “Bobby” Alfrey, 57, of Morehead, KY, passed away August 7, 2026, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Bobby was born October 8, 1968, in Morehead, a son of James Allen Alfrey, Sr., and Loraine Davis Alfrey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth W. Alfrey, and his nephew, Charles Aaron Alfrey.
Bobby leaves behind to treasure his memory, his wife, Rebecca “Becki” Riley Alfrey; his sister, Cherylyn Kay Alfrey Bridenthal; his brother, James A. Alfrey, Jr., and two foster daughters, Julie Rose of Louisville and Tori Kimbrell of Covington.
He also leaves behind a big family including his nieces and nephews: Kaitlin (Caleb) Goss, Owingsville, KY; Jesse (Kayla) Alfrey, Grange City, KY; Eva (Rob) McIntosh, Morehead, KY; Kendra Evans (Dalton), Grayson, KY; Faith Alfrey, Covington, KY; Erika Alfrey, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, his brother and sisters-in-law, all of whom he loved and his special aunt Shirley and many cousins including Yvonne whom he considered a second mom.
Bobby had a special relationship with his in-laws, Oscar and Patrica Riley, loving them as his own parents; they returned that love and always treated him as a son.
Bobby loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He loved Becki, his devoted wife of 33 years, whom he married November 13, 1993. He treasured her and the life he shared with her. He bragged on her often and encouraged her daily. He was vivacious, always had a kind word or deed for everyone he met, and loved the Lord with all his heart. He showed the love of Christ in all he said and did. He had the best sense of humor and was a practical jokester; he never met a stranger and loved to talk. He was knowledgeable in so many areas and had completed his degree at Morehead State University, where he was a former employee and mentored many students during and after his time there.
He loved long drives, both planned and unplanned; just stopping on a whim when something caught his eye. He took many of these drives with both Becki and Cheryl. They were always planning their next trip. Bobby loved vintage cars, rebuilding them, and attending car shows. He was known for helping others find what they needed for their own project cars. He loved music, encouraged Becki to sing, and thoroughly enjoyed researching ancestry and bringing his family together.
Bobby will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
