Robert Clay -Bob- Amburgey, 75, of Chase Lane, Jeffersonville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at his residence. He was born August 31, 1934, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, son of the late William Isaac and Lizzie Montgomery Amburgey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Amburgey. Bob is survived by his wife, Sue Dale Amburgey; one daughter, Donna Gail Baker of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Jennifer Michelle Huckabay of Seneca , Missouri; one grandson, Robert Clay Baker, Jr., of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Betty Amburgey Montgomery of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and two brothers, Roger Amburgey of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, and Frank Amburgey of Germantown, Ohio. Mr. Amburgey was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired construction management employee of Alliance Corporation in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was a member of Mt. Sterling Masonic Lodge No 23 and Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God with Foy Back, Marion Brewer and Robbie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale, Jeff and Mark Amburgey, Danny and Daryl Montgomery, and Mike Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Whitaker, Robert Esteppe, Ellis Kendrick, Gary Willoughby, Tim Oaks, Aaron Wicker, A. J. Williams, Johnnie Tabor, and Lee Harvey. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God, 7220 Main Street, Jeffersonville, KY.
