Richard. E. Lewis, 79, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. Born November 24, 1932, to the late Talmadge Ray and Jeannie Coffee Lewis, he was the eldest of 14 children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Anthony Lewis; a grandson, Damien Lewis; four brothers, Otis, Mickey, Raymond, and Ray Lewis; and a baby sister, Lenora Lewis. Richard is survived by two daughters, Shauna (Shawn) McLeod of Dunn, North Carolina, and Vickie Lewis of Lorraine, Ohio; six sons, Gary (Wilma) Lewis of Morehead, Kentucky, Don (Cindy) Lewis of Clearfield, Kentucky, Joe Lewis of Clearfield, Kentucky, Mark (Sue) Hardymon of Augusta, Kentucky, Mike (Bobbi) Hardymon of Melbourne, Florida, and Phillip Hardymon of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren, Virginia, Gary, Becky, and Miranda Lewis, Sarah (Mike) Jax, Marlina McLeod, Jeremy, Joshua, Paul, Garrett, and Jeffery Hardymon, Tricia (Johnny) Keaton, Brian (Victoria) and Dina McDowell; and 9 great grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers and four sisters, Roger Lewis of Shelby, Ohio, Carl (Sue) Lewis of Kernersville, North Carolina, Junior (Debbie) Lewis of Georgetown, Ohio, David (Joyce) Lewis of Clearfield, Kentucky, Faye Callahan of Morehead, Kentucky, Anna Mae (Marion) Lewis of Clearfield, Kentucky, Marie (Rick) Wisecup of Fairborn, Ohio, Marcella Bradford of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Debbie Bigelow. Mr. Lewis was retired from his lifelong love of carpentry. He was a builder of a replica of the Goddard White Bridge in Fleming County and had a big role in restoration projects at Memory Hill in Morgan County, Kentucky. He loved bluegrass gospel music and was a big fan of Bill Monre. Mr. Lewis spent his retirement years watching and helping his grandchildren when they had band, equine activities, basketball, and school projects. He loved showing off his many collections and things he had built. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Ditney Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kyle Callahan, McKee Lewis, Roy Lewis, Glen Lewis, Chris Crouch, and Joey Callahan. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Saturday, May 26, 2012, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, May 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. Interment: Ditney Cemetery
