Richard P. Barnes, age 90, of Cranston Road, Morehead, for the past 17 years, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Born July 12, 1927, in Lakeland, Florida, he was the son of the late Zerney and Eunice Pipkin Barnes. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Emmala Pate Barnes in 1999, and their two sons, Joseph Barnes and Richard Barnes, Jr. Mr. Barnes is survived by two daughters, Linda West of Tallahassee, Florida, and Jeanie Stamm and husband Eddie of Vanceburg; one brother, Zerney Barnes, Jr., of Montgomery, Alabama; six grandchildren, James Cobb, Jenifer Ferguson, Jason Stamm, Andy Stamm, Becca Stamm, and Molly Barnes; and four great grandchildren. Mr. Barnes received a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and retired as vice president from Badcock Corporation in Lakeland, Florida.
