Rex Allen Rothwell, age 68, of Camargo-Levee Road, Mt. Sterling, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling.

Born June 11, 1955, in Montgomery County, Rex was a son of the late Carl Bush Rothwell and Walter Mae Jones Rothwell.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Rothwell and James Rothwell, and one sister, Nancy Auburn.

Rex is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Williams Rothwell, whom he married February 7, 1985; one son, Charles Thomas Sexton (Merissa); one daughter, Terri Lynn Sexton, all of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren, Audriana Sexton, Kantessa Sexton, and Jerimiah Sexton; and four great grandchildren.

Other survivors include three brothers, Jimmy Rothwell of Mt. Sterling, Elmore "Bugs" Rothwell of Bourbon County, and Doug Rothwell of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Mary Nester of Mt. Sterling and Rosetta Reed of Bourbon County; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

He was a life-long farmer. Rex enjoyed doing mechanic work and loved fishing and rabbit and squirrel hunting.   Rex will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

At his request, there will be no visitation or service.
