Ray Alvin Reynolds, age 85, of Shiloh, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, at Ohio Health Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio. Born November 24, 1929, in Carter County, he was the son of the late Herbert Edmond and Mary Ann Lowe Reynolds. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Clova Purnell and Opal Goodan, and four brothers, Earl, Owen, Jettie, and Burlis Reynolds. Ray is survived by his wife Patsy, who he married on May 8, 1957. Mr. Reynolds is also survived by his eight children: Kathy Reynolds (Tom Eddy), Ashley, Ohio; Ray Reynolds Jr. (Karen King), Shiloh, Ohio; Becky (Bill) Buffington, Willard, Ohio; Owen (Kathy) Reynolds, Mansfield, Ohio; Martha (Mike) Norwood, Morehead; Chrissy (Carl) Schuster, Mansfield, Ohio; Jeannie Somers, Shiloh, Ohio; and Andi (Ruben) Rosorio, Shiloh, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, June Reynolds of Winchester, Ohio, and Lloyd Reynolds of Olive Hill; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends. Mr. Reynolds served in the U.S. Army from August 21, 1952 to June 24, 1954, and is a veteran of the Korean War. Ray retired from Peabody Barnes Pump and enjoyed working in his garden, telling 'corny' jokes, spending time with family, and going 'home' to his farm in Kentucky. He was a member of the Church of God, Hannah Road, Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with John Jordan and John Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery in Carter County with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126.
