Reginal Lawrence -Larry- Romanek, age 80, of Mocabee Creek Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. He was born April 18, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, and was the son of Steven J. and Irene Collard Romanek. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lonnie, and one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Paige Dailey. Larry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Madeline Wilson Romanek; two daughters, Tonya Fultz of Morehead, Kentucky, and Paula Cline of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two stepsons, David Mason and Paul Mason, both of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, John Venable of Ontario, California; three grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Dailey, Zachary Jon Brasington, and Lauren Oleva Parker; three step grandchildren, Brian David Mason, Dawn Nicole Mason, and Mindy Renea Mason; and three great grandchildren, Addison Lanea Dailey, Robert Landon Parker, and Kyler Gage Brasington. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a cross-country truck driver for more than 50 years. He was of the Catholic Faith. Graveside services and interment will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Wilson-Epperhart Cemetery on KY 173 in Rowan County with the Rev. Paul Prabell officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Zach Brasington, Kyle Parker, Chris Cline, Daniel Manier, Joe Fultz, and Nathaniel Fultz. Visitation is Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
