R. C. 'Chalmer' Snipes, age 70, of Buffalo Branch Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. Born March 19, 1945, in Olive Hill, he was a son of the late Arlie Lee and Florene McRoberts Snipes. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Herman 'Bill' Snipes and Chris Snipes, and infant sister, Linda Snipes. R. C. is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue Bowman Snipes, whom he married June 12, 1973; one son, Chester Allen (Sue) Troy of Bethel, Ohio; two daughters, Allison (Joe) Littleton and Susan Snipes, all of Morehead; nine grandchildren, Brittany Rocha, Jay Troy, Dakota Maines, Joseph Littleton, Jesse Troy, Ashley Troy, Christopher Littleton, Tommy Troy, and Andrew Littleton; two great grandchildren, Alexander Rocha and Briar Littleton; special brother-in-law, Billy Bowman of Clearfield; and extended family and friends. He was the owner and operator of Snipes Lawnmower Service and a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. R. C. enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his cabin. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton and Elder Noel Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Bowman Cemetery on Jones Ridge.
