Phyllis Jean Mangold, age 68, of Whispering Pines, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 29, 1942, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Ruth Willoughby Sweet of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and the late Phillip Larison. Her husband, James Willard Mangold, preceded her in death on August 7, 1995. In addition to her mother, Phyllis is survived by three daughters, Karen Agee of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, Jerusha Mangold of Winchester, Kentucky, and Karla (Donald) Reeves of Stanton, Kentucky; one sister, Kay Gilvin of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; caregiver, Thelma Culbert of Clearfield, Kentucky; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Phyllis graduated from Montgomery County High School in Mt. Sterling and cosmetology school in Winchester. She enjoyed watching television, western movies, quilting and embroidery. Her great grandchildren were her greatest joy. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Teegarden officiating. Burial will follow in the Spruce Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Dallas Spencer, Karen Agee, Paul Bellamy, Nelson Gilliam, Timothy Cornett, John Brown, and Denzil Workman.
