Obituary

Pastor Philip Wayne Fraley, age 67, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born July 18, 1946, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William McKinley and Libby Vaughn Shumate Fraley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Ben Fraley, and one sister, Gertrude Fraley. Mr. Fraley is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lana Stevens Fraley, whom he married June 29, 1968; one son, Philip Morelan Fraley of Morehead; three sisters, JoAnn Fay of Columbus, Ohio, Bonnie Stigall of Nova, Ohio, and Fannie Brown of Shiloh, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Torianna Fraley, MorliJo Fraley, and Philip Jayben Fraley. Philip served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972 and was the pastor of the Hayes Branch Community Church in Morehead. He enjoyed ministering, listening to gospel and Bluegrass music, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with Brother John Stevens and Brother Jay Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Fraley Cemetery on Poppy Mountain with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers will be Dale Fay, Wayne Brown, Steven Brown, Alan Fay, Eric Brown, and Stan Fay. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, December 18, 2013, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 1 p.m. Interment: Fraley Cemetery on Poppy Mountain
