Peggy Jo Messer Maze 81, of Morehead, KY, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after a brief illness. Peggy was born September 15, 1936, in Morehead to the late Joseph and Dorothy Hill Messer. Peggy was a hard worker and had retired from Jerry's restaurant after 26 years of employment. Peggy was a member of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed catching up with her family and friends on the telephone all while worrying about her children, grandchildren, and the weather. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ray Maze, who passed away May 2, 2008. Peggy is survived by 2 daughters, Anita Maze Willoughby (David), Gina Davis Day (Randy), 2 sons, Robert Ray Maze (Jessica), Rodney Tucker Maze (Melissa), 9 grandchildren, Randa Day Gilliam (Jarrod), Adam Day (Kayla), Kristen Willoughby Bowen (Ross), Sam Willoughby (Kylie), Justin Willoughby, Audrey Maze, Sydney Maze, Trevor Maze, and Caleb Maze. In addition she is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Madilyn Gilliam, Jase Gilliam, Raelyn Day, Charlie Day, Averie Bowen, and 2 sisters, Margaret Ann Messer May and Mary Louise Messer Omohundro, and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family who will sadly miss her. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 2:00PM at Lee Cemetery in Morehead, KY with Bro. Vernon Lambert officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 10:00AM until 1:00PM at the Duvall and Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 149 Whitt St. Olive Hill, KY.
