Peder Gordon Jacobsen, 78, of Wellington, Kentucky, formerly of Staten Island, Samsonville, and Stone Ridge, New York, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at his home. Born May 10, 1938, in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of the late Arne and Agnes Rasmussen Jacobsen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Wallevik Jacobsen; one son, John K. (Diane) Jacobsen of Stone Ridge, New York; two daughters, Julie Marie Jacobsen (William) Decker of Stone Ridge, New York, and Janine E. Jacobsen (Edward) Sprague of Samsonville, New York; and eight grandchildren, Kristen, Kara, and Erik Jacobsen; Morgan and Jenna Decker; Logan, Tanner and Jadin Sprague. Mr. Jacobsen was a merchant seaman in New York prior to moving to Kentucky ten years ago. He enjoyed fishing and was a woodworking craftsman.
