Obituary

Pauline Redwine Johnson, age 87, of Hillside View Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at home after a long illness. Born March 15, 1920, in Clermont County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lowell and Effie Johnson Redwine. Mrs. Johnson was the devoted wife to her husband of 67 years, Clester Ovel Johnson. Other survivors include a son, James Ovel Johnson and his wife Betty Anderson Johnson of Spartanburg, South Carolina; grandsons Jeffrey Ovel Johnson and his wife Shannon Doud Johnson; James Leland Johnson and his wife Heather Houston Johnson; granddaughter Julia Johnson Segars and her husband, John Henry Segars, Jr. Great grandchildren are Jacob Lyddon Johnson, Grace Anderson Johnson, Isabelle Bailey Johnson, Ellison Anne Johnson, Emma Grace Johnson, John Anderson Segars, Sam Henry Johnson, and Anna Marina Segars. She is also survived by a brother, Sam Redwine of San Antonio, Texas, and two sisters, Emogene Barbour of Fern Creek, Kentucky, and Joy Garifalon and her husband Paul of Sumter, South Carolina, and sister-in-law Emma Hutchinson of Morehead, Kentucky. Mrs. Johnson was a longstanding member of the Morehead First Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a retired educator, starting her career in 1939 in a rural school in Elliott County, Kentucky. She also taught school for 10 years at Haldeman, Kentucky, and then 21 years at Fern Creek High School, Fern Creek, Kentucky. Visitation is Saturday, January 12, 2008, at 1 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Allan Hutchinson officiating. Private burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Steve Lewis, Buford Owens, Art Litton, Bobby Trent, John Paul Thomas, Roy Anderson and grandsons Jeffrey Ovel Johnson and James Leland Johnson. Visitation: Saturday, January 12, 2008, after 1 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, January 12, 2008, at 2 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
