Obituary

Pauline Blankenbeckler Arnold, age 89, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her son's home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 20, 1936, in Elliottville, to the late Earl Blankenbeckler and Gladys Lambert Blankenbeckler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Rev. Robert Arnold on December 31, 1998; one granddaughter, Samantha Arnold Griggs; five brothers, Eugene Blankenbeckler, James Blankenbeckler, Ranzel Blankenbeckler, Bill Blankenbeckler, and Don Blankenbeckler; and three sisters, Irene Sadler, Mae Slusher, and Reda Good.

Pauline is survived by four children, John Arnold (Cindy) of Davison, Michigan, Patricia Diefenbach (Lou) of Linden, Michigan, Sharon Metro (John) of Howell, Michigan, Lonnie Arnold (Tonya) of Morehead; one sister, Marie (Loren) Myers of Rockville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, John G. (Vanessa) Arnold of Camarillo, California, Ashley (Bradley) Dyer of Vanceburg, Larissa (Jake) Morse of Highland, Michigan, Stephanie (Stephen) Theisen of Ray, Michigan, Jayme Arnold of Otisville, Michigan, Sarah Arnold and Parker Arnold, both of Morehead; three step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

On August 29, 1953, she married the love of her life Robert Arnold; their love for one another was simply amazing. They cherished each other with their whole hearts while serving the Lord each and every day.  She supported her husband in his ministry while pastoring a church and throughout his career in the automotive industry at Cadillac. She embraced the purpose God gave her with everything she had. Always making sure her family had three meals a day, packed their lunches, kept them in clean clothes, and maintained a home so clean you could eat off the floor. Her passion and love for her family was so strong only God could measure it. She was the perfect wife and mom, as well as the family matriarch.

As humble and forgiving as she was, let's just say she wasn't happy when her husband traded their 1966 Cadillac for a 1972 Dodge Dart. Her first response was, "I can't believe you traded our Cadillac for this cracker box". But as always, she was thankful they had a car and made the best of it. At least until he replaced the Dart with a 1973 Impala. He always did his best to take care of her.

One of her favorite hobbies was raising flowers and helping her husband in the garden. In addition to her family, she had cared for over 60 children, not including all of her children's friends that just like to hang out at her house. If anyone ever felt unwelcomed or left hungry, well that was simply their fault.

Her grandson Parker said it best "she was the best cook ever". Her family was her life and her purpose. Being a wife, mother, and mamaw is what she cherished the most. She knew what God's purpose was for her and she fulfilled it perfectly. Losing her has left a huge void in her family, but the peace of knowing she is now living in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ brings us hope and keeps her alive in our hearts.
