Paul Mackie Williamson, age 85, Clearfield, Kentucky, husband of the late Vileta Cooper Williamson, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at his residence. Born October 17, 1925, in Stamford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Paul and Jeanette Mackie Williamson. Paul is survived by one daughter, Bonnie W. Halpin and her husband Robert of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one son, Paul A. Williamson and his wife Elizabeth of Plano, Texas; and one granddaughter, Sarah Rose and her husband Phillip of Lubbock, Texas Also surviving is one sister, Mary Turner and her husband Edward of Blairsville, Georgia. Paul made the Army his career serving as a Captain with the Army Corps of Engineers. Most of his active duty was spent in Germany and North Korea. He attended the United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Nettleton officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
