Paul Richard Sloan, age 65, of North Blair Avenue, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born September 19, 1949, in Rowan County, he is a son of Oscar Sloan of Morehead, and the late Nora Kiser Sloan. In addition to his father, Paul is survived by one son, David Sloan and wife Rhonda of Morehead; one step daughter, Sharon Hitch of Rowan County; one brother, Robert Sloan of Rowan County; special friend, Joyce Maxson of Morehead; two grandchildren, Zackery and Austin Sloan; and two step grandchildren, Veronica and Eric Thompson. Paul retired as a custodian from Morehead State University and enjoyed spending time with his family and dancing. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, at Sloan Cemetery, Brinegar Hill, in Carter County, with the Rev. Johnny A. Carter officiating. Following Mr. Sloan's request, there is no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
