Obituary

Paul Kenneth Ramey, age 69, of U.S. 60 West, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, at his residence. He was born January 21, 1940, in Shiloh, Ohio, and was the son of the late Howard and Ida Foster Ramey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Ramey, and two sisters, Anna Pearl Oney and Loraine Woloski. Paul is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Lewis Ramey, whom he married October 2, 1963; one son, Paul Ramey Jr. of Delaware, Ohio; one brother, Lester Ramey of Shelby, Ohio; four sisters, Maxine Johnson and Pauline Bowman of Shelby, Ohio, Beulah (Walter) Hayes of Newark, Ohio, and Lou Crager of Clearfield, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1959 - 1961. He was a union truck driver for Smith Transfer for 18 years and then Consolidated Freightways for 7 years. In 1987, he and Shirley established Ramey-s Greenhouse on U.S. 60 West. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Williams, Matthew Williams, Greg Jones, Dudley Dyer, Roy McGuire, and Bernard McGuire. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Bernie Lovely, Carl Sparkman, Bobby Kelly, Ronnie Easterling, Leonarad Ackermon, Bill Rheinscheld, and Sammy Montgomery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Monday, June 22, 2009, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 12 noon Interment: Brown Cemetery
