Rev. Paul H. Hedge, age 73, of Irwin Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010, at King-s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Born September 4, 1937, in Carter County, Kentucky, he was the son of Roy and Elsie Baker Hedge. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Van Hedge. Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley Deloris Messer Hedge, whom he wed September 5, 1958; two sons, Timothy Paul (Tara) Hedge of Ceredo, West Virginia, and the Rev. Paul Mitchell (Alice) Hedge of Buffalo, Kentucky; two daughters, Paula Deloris (Larry) Lowe of Pikeville, Kentucky, and Penny Paulette (Danny)Cornett of Morehead, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Arnold Ray Hedge and Roy Cecil Hedge, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four sisters, Wilma Christine Johnigean of Valrico, Florida, Bonnie Shirleen Dailey of and Judy Schnuerer, both of Mansfield, Ohio, and Julia Kirschnick of Belleville, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Paul graduated from Olive Hill High School in 1956 and was also a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tennessee, and Mt. Vernon Nazarene College in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was a self-employed carpenter, a laboratory technician for General Refractories Company in Olive Hill, Kentucky, for 15 years and an ordained elder/minister for the Church of the Nazarene for 44 years. He served as pastor of several churches in Kentucky including the Morehead First Church of the Nazarene, Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene in Martin County, Grayson Church of the Nazarene, Flemingsburg Church of the Nazarene, Hopkinsville Church of the Nazarene, and Paris Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mitch Hedge and the Rev. Harold Barrian officiating. Burial will follow in the Hedge-Baker Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Brian Crisp, J. R. Ginter, Shay Berry, Casey Berry, Jeremy Cornett, Jordan Cornett, Paul M. Hedge, and Lucas Hedge. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Berry and Eric Berry. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY.
