Paul Busby, age 72, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born October 13, 1935, in Call Junction, Texas, to Samuel Walker Busby, Sr., and Melissa Elnora Moore Busby. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Samuel Walker Busby, Jr., Cora Mae Warwick, Dorothy Rae Guillot, Willie Elnora Mixon, and Wesley Alton Busby. Paul is survived by his wife, Betty Jo McKenzie Busby; sons Danny (Debbie) McKinney of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Andrew Jack (Natalie) McKinney of Morehead, Kentucky; and daughter Sue (Wendell) McClurg of Morehead, Kentucky; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Sue Hinch and Imogene Earnst of Vidor, Texas, Donese Smith of Call Junction, Texas, Pauline Perritte and Dennis Busby of Kirbyville, Texas, Harold Busby of Nederland, Texas, Lois West and Mary Lea Davison of Old Salem, Texas, and Carl Busby of Brookland, Texas. Mr. Busby was a retired pipeline engineer. He retired from Carl E. Smith and Sons Pipelines, Inc. of Sandyville, West Virginia, after forty plus years of service. He met and married Betty while completing a pipeline job in the Morehead area. They celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary in March 2008. In his years of retirement, he enjoyed working outside on his farms, hunting for ginseng, hiking and walking on his farms and gardening. He loved so much visiting and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they enjoyed and loved visiting with him. He will be most remembered for his quiet steadfastness and his caring and giving nature. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Pennington and the Rev. Mark Poston officiating. Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd McClurg, Chris McClurg, Ryan McKinney, Rob Woodside, Jay Greenhill, Todd Layne, Terry McKenzie, and Dennis McKenzie.
