Patty Ann Fultz Smedley, age 50, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born April 6, 1961, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is the only child of James E. -Jim- Fultz and Anna Mae Easton Fultz of Carter County, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, Patty is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Smedley, whom she married December 18, 1982, and their two sons, Joshua Smedley and Jeremy Smedley, both of Clearfield, Kentucky. Patty was a 1979 West Carter High School graduate and received her bachelor-s degree, master-s degree, and Rank I in Elementary Education from Morehead State University. A teacher in Carter County for 27 years, she was currently a kindergarten teacher at Olive Hill Elementary School. Patty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially vacationing. She was saved and baptized when she was a teenager and attended the Olive Hill Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Allen Wells and Brother Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Allen, Dwayne Edward Allen II, Doug Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Jim Gabbard, and Tommy Newkirk.
