Patricia (Patti) Lou Walter Ferguson, age 32, of Clearfield, KY passed peacefully on July 21, 2017, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. Patricia was born May 5, 1985, to Dennis and Candy (Buckler) Walter in Marion, IN and was married to Joseph (Jody) Ferguson on August 8, 2009. Patricia graduated from Morehead State University in Morehead, KY in 2008 with a degree in social work and worked in that field in numerous positions until 2015 when her battle with cystic fibrosis prevented her from retaining a full-time position. Not a person to sit idle, Patricia was active in several activities inside and outside of her home including sewing, knitting, home decoration, scrapbooking, gardening and especially doing her "dog runs" associated with the STAR (Saving the Animals of Rowan County) Program with her mother-in-law. She was determined not to let the disease in front of her prevent her from living life to the fullest and she expressed that through her daily actions. Patricia was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jiles Buckler, and paternal grandparents, John and Dixie Walter. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Joseph (Jody) Ferguson; stepsons, Brandon and Payton; stepdaughter, Morgan; father, Dennis Walter and wife Pam; mother, Candy Dobish and husband Bill; brother, John; sister, Anndee; maternal grandmother, Patricia Buckler; mother-in-law, Faye Ferguson; stepbrother, Caleb (Tessa) Dobish and stepsisters, Kelsey Dobish and Carissa Dobish; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery, Reynolds Cemetery Road, in Elliott County. Pallbearers: John Walter, Brandon Ferguson, Payton Ferguson, Curtis Shackelford, James Hamlin, Daniel Czech. Honorary Pallbearers: Anndee Walter, Morgan Ferguson, David Butler. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
