Patricia Ann Smith Thompson, age 73, of Meadowlands Drive, Morehead, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016, at her residence. Pat was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on July 8, 1943, to the late William and Alta Mae Jasper Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Pauline Keeton and Doris Jean Clare. Her husband of 49 years, Paul David Thompson, whom she married March 9, 1963, also preceded her in death on December 17, 2012. She is survived by one son, Andrew Culley Thompson and wife Melissa; two grandsons, Seth Andrew Thompson and Cole Walker Thompson and fiancée Chelsea Bailey; a step granddaughter, Aariel Nicole Jones and husband Zach; one step great grandson, Jensen T. Jones, all of Morehead, as well as a great grandson, Brenham David Thompson, expected to arrive in December. Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara Jane Erickson and husband Eric of Russellville, Ohio, and Mary Ruth Broomall and husband Edward of Ashland; one brother, William Allen Smith and wife Wilma of Louisville; special friend and caregiver, Linda Ginter; and several nieces and nephews. Pat retired after 35 years of service as an operator and dispatcher for GTE and was a former bus monitor for the Rowan County Board of Education. She enjoyed watching U. K. basketball and her grandsons' activities, especially their ballgames. She was active in Little League and Rowan County Football Boosters and was a Cub Scout den mother. Pat was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Owingsville Ward. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bishop Jason Purdy officiating. Interment will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Grayson. Pallbearers: Seth Andrew Thompson, Cole Walker Thompson, Zach Jones, Kyle Sexton, Mike Smedley, Lundie Blevins, and Jeremy Hutchinson. Honorary pallbearers: Greg Hunt and T. J. Johnson Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
