Patricia “Pat” Jean Perez Adkins Schiessl, 90, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at UK St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born November 23, 1935, in Santa Paula, California, to the late Alfonso Perez and Norma Parsons Perez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Adkins, who passed away April 25, 2014; one brother, Alfonso “Sonny” Perez, Jr.; and one sister, Delphina “Chita” Harless.
Pat is survived by her husband, John F. Schiessl, whom she wed December 8, 2024; one son, Michael Allen (Stephanie) Ockerman of Olive Hill, KY; one daughter, Mechelle Adkins Griffin of Spring Hill, FL; one grandson, Blake Alexander Griffin of Spring Hill, FL; and one sister, Joan Garkow of Big Bear City, CA.
Pat and her late husband Curt owned and operated Curt Adkins Roofing for over 20 years and C & H Liquors over 13 years. She loved her church, gardening, and taking care of her animals. Pat was a former member of the Morehead First Christian Church where she served as a deacon and member of the choir and later attended the Morehead Seventh Day Adventist Church for several years. She was currently attending Rowan Church of God in Polksville, KY. Pat will be fondly remembered for her loving heart, kindness, and the lasting memories she shared with her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harold Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead.
Pallbearers: Blake Griffin, Mel Bradley, A. J. Adkins, Frank LaBarbera, Chuck Mraz, Craig Dennis. Honorary pallbearers: Members of Hayes Crossing-Haldeman Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation for Pat Adkins Schiessl will be held from 11 a.m. until noon on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Saving the Animals of Rowan (STAR), P O Box 454, Morehead, KY 40351.
