Obituary

Pastor David Fredrick Starcher, age 72, of Morehead, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at U.K. HealthCare in Lexington with his loving family by his side.

Born December 11, 1950, in Ridgewood, West Virginia, he was the son of the late David Harlen Starcher and Madeline Gregory Starcher. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Jane Riggs.

David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ellen Marie West Starcher, whom he married October 25, 1975; one special daughter, Brandi Nicole Plank and husband Joey of Mt. Sterling; three very special grandchildren, Hannah Marie Plank, Isaiah Luke Plank, and Rebekah Deanne Plank; as well as extended family, including his church family, and many friends.

David was a Baptist minister for 45 years and graduated in 1999 from Andersonville Baptist Seminary in Camilla, Georgia, with his doctorate in Theology.  He served as pastor of several churches in Ohio and Kentucky including the Uniontown Free Will Baptist, Rittman Community Church, First Free Will Baptist of Morehead, and Potter Wheel Baptist.

He was a former employee at Teledyne-Monarch Rubber Company in Hartville, Ohio, for 20 years and McBrayer Elementary School for four years.  David enjoyed hunting and especially spending time with his family.  David will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Glenn Sizemore and Mark Patrick officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Isaiah Plank, Jamie Preece, Kevin Caudill, Anthony Cantrell, Joey Plank, Christopher Boggs, and Curtis Boggs.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
