Paris Jackson, Jr., age 100, of Morehead Road, Wallingford, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at UK–St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 7, 1925, in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late Paris and Flora Meade Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Catherine Kissick Jackson, on September 10, 2015; one daughter, Mary Jackson; siblings, Hazel Jackson, Lynden Jackson, James Jackson, Edwin Jackson, Paul Jackson, Flora Ruth Byrd, and Irene Elam; and a son-in-law, Jack McBrayer.
Paris is survived by one son, Joseph Alan (Jill) Jackson of Morehead; one daughter, Deborah Jackson McBrayer of Morehead; five grandchildren, Rebekah (Jonathan) Lovell, Emily Jackson, Michael Farr, Nicholas Farr, and Kristina (Brad) Fieldhouse; and two great-grandchildren, Catherine Leslie "Kate" Rice and Arthur Stephen Joseph Lovell.
Also surviving are two brothers, John Jackson of Florida and Marvin Tob Jackson of Morehead; three sisters, Loretta Cassity, Alice Stadin, and Joan Pitney, all of Florida; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Paris proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 during World War II. He was a gunner aboard the USS Saratoga aircraft carrier, which was struck by a Japanese suicide plane. He was injured in the attack and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service and sacrifice.
Following his military service, Paris worked in construction for many years. He was employed with Jackson Builders and later joined his son Joe in his construction business. He also served as a Fleming County Magistrate.
Paris enjoyed farming, raising hogs and cattle, woodworking, and tending his garden. Even this past year, he could be found helping and supervising. Known for his great sense of humor and love of laughter, Paris brought joy to everyone around him. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family, who will miss him deeply.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Michael Powers and Pastor Scott Cummins officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery on Maxey Flat Road.
Pallbearers: Michael Farr, Nicholas Farr, Brad Fieldhouse, Jonathan Lovell, Bob Lawson, and Matt Foudray.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
