Pamela Ann Day Dillon, 57, of Clearfield Hill, Clearfield, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an extended illness with paralysis. She was born July 23, 1957, a daughter of James 'Jim' Day and Madge A. Thomas Elliott, both of Morehead. In addition to her parents, Pam is survived by her husband, David Michael Dillon, whom she wed July 26, 2003; four sons, Jason Ray Jones and wife Cassie of Morehead, Michael Todd Butler and wife Suzanne of Flemingsburg, James Adam Butler and wife Ashley Dawn of Paintsville, and David Andrew Dillon of Clearfield; and four grandchildren, Raymond Gage Jones, Addison Claire, Catherine Reese Butler and Michael Collin Butler. Other survivors include one brother, Jay Day and wife Teresa of Morehead; two sisters, Beverly Sue 'Susie' Taylor and husband Steve of Morehead, and Khristy Day Kahrig and husband Jason of Russell; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In 1975, Pam graduated from Rowan County High School, where she was a cheerleader and active in several organizations. She spent the next thirty years working in the medical profession at Cave Run Clinic, Dr. James Jackson's office, and Rowan County Health Department. Pam's life was dedicated to helping others and taking care of family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, her greatest joy came from her family and her love for them was endless. She enjoyed horseback riding, her Yorkies, kitty cats, and the Big Blue Nation. In 2008, Pam contracted Transverse Myelitis and became an advocate for and encourager to others with this rare spinal cord injury. She contributed her story in the book, Transverse Myelitis: Our Stories, published in 2011. Pam was a Christian and attended Morehead First Church of God. A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Pam's sons and her 'extended sons' David Boarman, Ashley Kiser, Wesley Mason and Criss Dougherty. Visitation is 5 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
