Opal Louise Switzer Howard, age 84, of East Highway 36, Olympia, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehab Center in Owingsville. Born April 17, 1931, in Fleming County, she was the only child of the late Carl L. and Bessie Dulin Switzer. Her husband, Clay Winford Howard, preceded her in death on July 5, 2008. Mrs. Howard is survived by one son, Ronald David Howard and wife Juanita of Morehead; one daughter, Sharon Keeton and husband Billy of Olympia; three grandchildren, David Wayne Howard, Paul Wesley Howard, and Misty Dawn Howard; seven great grandchildren, Morgan Danielle Howard, Madison Cheyenne Howard, Macie Renee Howard, Makayla Brieann Parsons, Maleigha Jade Wheeler, Emi Mae Tackett, and Erica Rankins; one great-great grandson, Colten Dallas Parish; and two step grandchildren, Jeffery Keeton and Daniel Keeton. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Bath County Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
