Omer L. Brown, age 91, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at Shawnee Estates Assisted Living, in Xenia, Ohio, where he resided the past several months.

Born March 22, 1933, in Morehead, he was the last surviving son of Sherman and Ann Epperhart Brown.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Vernon, and Eugene Brown.

Omer's wife of 53 years, Lorena Faye Cooper Brown, passed away on December 6, 2005; and his second wife of 16 years, Pauline Kissick Brown, on May 3, 2023.

Omer is survived by four sons; Omer P. "Phil" Brown (Judy) of Jamestown, Ohio, Tim W. Brown (Sherry) of Alpena, Michigan, Randy L. Brown (Sharon) of Springfield, Ohio, and Brian D. Brown of Nashville, Tennessee; one stepson, Tim James (Lisa), as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Omer was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.  A dedicated employee, he was a cataloging manager for the Defense Electronic Supply Center (DESC) in Dayton, Ohio, for 36 years.  He retired in 1988.

Omer was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who eagerly helped anyone in need.  He was always a gentleman, kind, and considerate.  In his younger years, Omer enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his sons, and his lifelong pastimes-- boating, fishing, and camping--brought him much joy.  He was a loyal member of Mt. Pisgah Christian Church.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, followed by a celebration of life beginning at 1 p.m. Friday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Jack Hinton officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with full military honors presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Cooper, A. J. Cooper, Anthony Cantrell, Timmy Brown, Brian Brown, and Phil Brown.
